What to Expect
Whether you’ve attended church for your entire life or never been at all, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. You’re not quite sure what to expect and you probably have a lot of questions. At Cornerstone Church we want to give you the best experience possible.
Here is some information that should help:
Our Celebration Gathering is at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings. The gathering lasts about 75 minutes.
We encourage you to arrive about 15 minutes early so we can show you around and check in your kids (if applicable). This will give you plenty of time to get settled in before we begin. You can also “plan your visit” by clicking HERE.
Currently, we provide a “self-serve” nursery for children younger than kindergarten. The K-5th grade children are invited to go to our exciting Kids Church about 30 minutes into the service. They will have a great time there as they participate in a church experience that is specifically designed for them.
Whatever you’re comfortable in! We welcome jeans or slacks, t-shirts or suit and tied, or even tuxedos if you prefer…you get the idea. Come as you are.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly Welcome Team. They will be available to answer any questions, help you get your children checked in, and find the best seat in the house. Before you sit down you can grab a drink and a pastry, then enjoy the music and fellowship while you wait for the service to begin. Remember you can “plan your visit” by providing a little bit of information about yourself and your family by clicking HERE. If you don’t get a chance to do that, you can still check your kids in when you arrive and you will be invited to fill out a digital Connection Card with everyone else during the service.
First of all, you won’t be made to feel uncomfortable by asking you to identify yourself during the service so you can receive a “welcome packet”. You will be invited to complete a digital Connection Card along with everyone else. We want you to have a meaningful, stress-free experience…and have a lot of fun.
Each service is about 75-80 minutes. The first half hour you’ll get to enjoy some modern worship music led by our Worship Arts Team. We’ll have the words to each song up on the screen, so you can sing as much as you want or just listen!
Then after a short welcome one of our leaders will highlight a couple of events and then we’ll jump right into the day’s teaching. Each message is 35-40 minutes long and teaches about eternal Biblical principles that you can apply to your life in some very real and practical ways. There will be some notes on the screen so you can follow along and more detailed notes provided through our church app. Check them out HERE. (You can also see previous messages HERE).
About once a month we celebrate Communion together as a church family.
Kids Church will be the BEST time of your child’s week! All children through 5th grade are invited to join us in a fun, interactive environment where our team of trained volunteers creates a fun, safe, and loving environment. Your child will want to come back every week! Students, 6th grade and older, are encouraged to be a part of the adult service.
When you first arrive, you are invited to check your family in with our trained volunteers. We provide a staffed “self-serve” Nursery for you to use if your pre-K child needs attention. Kindergarten through 5th-grade children are part of the main service for about the first 30 minutes, then they are dismissed to go to Kid’s Church with our trained volunteers. If your child has any needs during Kid’s Church, you will be notified on the screen in the auditorium.
